What is Arena for?

The social side of a company: games, icebreakers, kudos, trivia, leaderboards and small tournaments that give a distributed team something to share.

Does anyone actually use it?

It works best when it is small and regular. A weekly game and a kudos habit do more for a remote team than an annual offsite.

Is it optional for staff?

Completely. Nobody is required to play, and nothing about it affects their work record.
